Amman, Feb. 13 (Petra)-- Minister of Health, Ibrahim Al-Badour, expressed his pride in the ministry’s personnel across all locations, commending their dedication and tireless efforts in serving patients and advancing the national healthcare sector.

His remarks came during an expanded meeting held Friday at the Royal Cultural Center, attended by Secretary-General for Administrative Affairs Ilham Khraisat and Secretary-General for Primary Healthcare and Epidemics Riyad Al-Shiyab. The meeting brought together around 600 hospital directors, health directorate heads, and managers of health centers from across the Kingdom.

Opening the session, Al-Badour welcomed participants and extended his congratulations on the approaching holy month of Ramadan. He stressed the importance of embracing the occasion to reinforce values of discipline, solidarity, and commitment to delivering the highest standards of patient care.

He underscored the need to strengthen a culture of mutual respect among administrative, technical, and medical staff, and to foster a collaborative work environment grounded in teamwork and shared responsibility. Such an approach, he noted, would enhance efficiency and lead to outstanding performance outcomes.

Al-Badour affirmed that every official within the Ministry of Health is directly accountable to the minister and subject to continuous evaluation based on a clear standard: excellence in performance and the provision of the best possible services to citizens and patients.

He emphasized that the ministry will continue to recognize and reward outstanding performers.

The minister said the primary objective of the meeting was to strengthen direct communication with healthcare leaders in the field and unify efforts to improve the quality of services, thereby positively impacting the patient experience and satisfaction.

He highlighted the importance of courteous interactions with patients, stressing that the "patient journey" within healthcare institutions must be smooth and well-organized from entry to discharge, with patient satisfaction serving as a key performance indicator.

He also emphasized adherence to official working hours and job discipline, close monitoring of field teams, and making effective use of "mystery shopper" reports as a tool for performance improvement. Additionally, he called for serious and prompt action in addressing remarks issued by the Audit Bureau.

Al-Badour urged intensified routine maintenance of facilities and medical equipment, as well as maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in healthcare institutions to reflect positively on service quality. He stressed the strict enforcement of no-smoking regulations within healthcare premises without exception.

The minister further highlighted the necessity of providing appropriate facilities for persons with disabilities and the elderly to ensure they receive services with ease and dignity. He also encouraged patients to make use of the medication home-delivery service to ease their burden and reduce overcrowding at health facilities.

Regarding complaints, Al-Badour emphasized the importance of cooperation between liaison officers in hospitals, health centers, and directorates with the "Voice of the Service Recipient" unit and the hotline, ensuring rapid response and effective handling of feedback to strengthen public trust in government healthcare services.

He also called for responsible and professional engagement with media outlets, describing them as partners in conveying an accurate picture of healthcare services, and stressed the importance of providing timely and precise information.

Concluding his remarks, the minister encouraged hospital directors, health officials, and center heads to participate in ministry-led awards and competitive programs.

He noted that excellence will be linked to financial incentives and promotion opportunities in recognition of efforts and to motivate further achievement. Any vacant position, he added, will be filled by selecting distinguished and qualified candidates based on clear standards of fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity.
